Armed Forces Day in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens with marching on the famous Royal Mile between Holyrood Park and Edinburgh Castle. Somehow the Edinburgh Jazz Festival was caught on camera at the same time!
Question of the Day:
Every Armed Forces Day is different, tell me about you're experiences?

Music copyright cleared by event organiser where new arrangements of famous compositions are heard. The Royal Regiment of Scotland perform a number playing their own composed version of music which they will have licensed and I had permission to film them. Pipe Bands also feature within this video.
I own the new audio recording of this entire video captured while filming the event.

The Edinburgh Veterans Day was the original name for what has now become the military army forces memorial day, an annual event that takes in the United Kingdom which is celebrated in June to commemorate the veterans of men and women in the British Military forces armed. Despite the first event having taken place in 2006, the day of the event is not a public holiday within the UK. Each year, a major City hosts the main bulk of the events with Blackpool being chosen in 2008. It was in 2009 that the event took it's most recent title, the Armed Forces Day.
This video was filmed at the 2008 Edinburgh Veterans Parade about veterans day by members of the Edinburgh Cine and Video Society to show what is veterans day about. We were positioned at various points down the Royal Mile to cover the Scotland event. Unknown to us until the day of filming, the Jazz Parade at one stage of the parade was joint back to back with the Military Forces Veterans which confused some of the operators. You can see the Golden Eagles Marching Team in the video.
